About
AddMissingOgImage is a small system plugin for Joomla that automatically ensures a page has a featured image tag (og:image) that social networks and link previews use. It looks for a specific image area on the page (you set the ID in the plugin settings), extracts the best image URL it finds there, and adds the correct meta tag into the page header so social sites show the right image when the page is shared.

What it does: Finds an image on the page and inserts the standard Open Graph image tag so previews on Facebook, Twitter and messengers show that image.

How it works (simple): After the page is rendered it searches for a configured block (by ID), reads the image or srcset inside, converts it to a full URL and adds the og:image metadata to the page head.

Why it helps: Many sites forget to set the preview image; this plugin fixes that automatically without editing templates or article content.
Quick use note: Install and enable the plugin, set the ID of the element that contains your pages preview image (default: og-image), and enable debug if you want to see what the plugin found during page load.
Installation
Install the Plugin in the Joomla Backend and configure it under System -> Plugins -> System -> netzSINN AddMissingOgImage.
Once installed, you may configure the image id - or use the default og-image.
